It had been moons since the duo had set out in search of a new place to call home and happened upon a group of traveling cats. Most of the cats were unfamiliar to the two, but there was a few with... familiar scents... although they were obviously past Mother and Sigmund's time as neither of them recognized the ones that had their old clan's scents clinging to their pelts. The duo had decided their days of committing unnecessary crimes were over... or rather, Mother had decided she was done and Sigmund, as usual, just followed her lead. The scrawny tom scratched at the usual balding spot behind his ear as a freshly killed mouse dangled from his jaws. "caufght thif for yoush". He told Mother through the fur of the mouse.

Her white fur was pristine, having being groomed to perfection as she awaited Sigmund's return. "I am not to hungry, I shall go out to catch something later." She dismissed with a wave of her tail as her metallic eyes watched the cats off in the distance from her vantage point on a gathering of rocks. There was an old structure of some sort under them that they had been using as a temporary structure as they awaited making a further decision on their future. "Tensions between them still seem uneasy," humming she curled her flicked tail around her paws. "I am not sure they will split anytime soon so we can probably wait to integrate ourselves among them. No use building goodwill when power structures are setup to change so drastically in the future."

Sigmund shrugged his shoulders as he dropped the mouse and took a huge bite out of its side. As he chewed he started scratching at a separate balding spot on his side. He swallowed this time before he spoke. "I am sure it is only a matter of time before they all start going their own separate ways. Although I hope this time we won't have to choose between so many groups". He stated as he took another bite out of the mouse. He watched in the distance as cats from the group started feeding each other, and kits played in a nearby clearing. "Although it seems they are getting along okay for the most part. We both know though that tranquility never lasts for long".

"No, dissent is always quick to be sown." She agreed before turning to pin him under blank eyes. "There is no need to keep acting so neurotic when no one is around to see dear heart." While her tone was chiding there was a slight concern swimming in her stare. In there time of wandering while there were no watching eyes on them, where there was simply the two of them surviving in the wide open world together his pelt had grown in and his health had thrived. But now that the clans were nearby again, or what used to be clan cats his neurotic mask had started making an appearance again. "This is a new beginning after all, we should make the most of it."

"Sorry, sometimes I forget to drop the facade." He lied through his teeth. He shook his head slightly as if to clear the insanity from his head. "How long before the dissent settles in?" He asked, attempting to change the subject.

"There's truly no way to tell is there. We'll just have to hold and watch how the winds blow." She hummed narrowing her eyes as she watched a kit tumble across the ground chasing after a pinecone. The few kits there were often played on their lonesome, parents protective of the young lives born on the journey that they had struggled to keep alive. The slightly older ones, that had born at the beginning of the journey or slightly before were worse off in her opinion. "These young ones, they know nothing but the nomadic ways of before. The future of these cats rests of them; hopefully they can make the adjustments to come."
