obviously before the split of the clans while everyone is still in a group
It felt as if they had been traveling for years. The ever present fear of the Wraiths had kept them moving almost constantly, until recently. Starclan had finally intervened to help save those that were left of the once great clans. Agatemurmur had traveled with them the entire way, wanting to forget about any life that she had previously. It was a new start, a new beginning, one they had been blessed with from their ancestors at last.
The group that had grown smaller at times, only to grow again with cats they picked up along the way, had stopped on a hill covered in undergrowth and low hanging trees. Plopping down, something totally unlike her usual graceful self, Agatemurmur began to wash the dirt from her paws as she tried to ease some of the soreness that never seemed to diminish these days.

Goldenbelladonna stepped towards her on silent feet, finding refuge next to the quiet calico away from the murmurs and restless anxiety that seemed to be a constant companion to the group of cats. It was easing now that the Wraiths had not been seen recently. But many of these cats had become haggard and jaded in their journey, or those that had come from the original lands. It almost felt criminal to think that some of this group had never been in the clans original lands, had never known the clans many of these cats used to call home.
He himself barley remembered a time before the journey, rather young when his older brother pushed him to follow the others and find a new place for himself. To leave his phantoms and ghosts behind and hope he traveled far enough that they never found him again. Glancing sideways blue eyes looked towards Agatemurmur grooming herself and unconsciously a crooked grin crossed his features, a bitter little thing to herald his first words. "Do you think we are close to something we can call home?" It felt like a joke even saying it out loud, to even think of a home that didn't have his older brother alongside him.

ah heck hold on it took me too long to post this i need to edit it. okay good enough
To say that she was tired would be an understatement. Of course, Blushingdawn had traveled before, but this time felt much different - both good and bad. The feeling of being chased and hunted was far from pleasant, but at least this time she had company. She wasn't alone. There were others that shared her same feelings, just one glance into someone's eyes and she could see her own sleepless gaze reflected in them. She was sure that StarClan's interference lifted their spirits just as much as it had her own.
The relief however didn't extend to her sore body and heavy eyelids. She felt like she could just fall over, and she nearly gave into the feeling. Instead, she settled down softly next to Agatemurmur, giving the best smile she could muster to the other she-cat. Even with just that action, it was as if she was screaming about her exhaustion level, as it hadn't reached her eyes at all. Then she turned her gaze to Goldenbelladonna as he raised his question. "I'm not sure. I certainly hope so, but at least this break is still nice."

If it had been any other day, Agatemurmur might have been irritated by the close proximity of the cats around her. However, she was too tired to care, and deep down the company was kind of appreciated.
“Agreed,” she meowed, her voice slightly raspy from lack of use as of late. “If Starclan’s intervention means anything, I would hope this is the right place for us.” The tortie added between paws.

Coastcurl pushed her way to the front, her small body winding between the larger ones that took up the crowd. Though her body begged for rest, her spirit told her to keep going. She saw the she-cats sitting with their heads bowed in conversation. Narrowing her stormy eyes and squaring her narrow shoulders, she made her way over to the two with a determined look. Her stormy grey and white pelt was lumped with burrs and grass, a random feather sticking out from behind her ear. There was a light in her eyes that would either get her in trouble or get others on her side; Coatcurl had a knack for trouble.
"What are we stopping for?" she asked with a curl of her lip, not of malice but with annoyance. Her ear tips barely made it past the jaws of the others, yet she held herself with a confidence of a cat twice her size. "I sense something just beyond the ridge, I think we should keep going." Something deep in her gut kept pulling, tugging her somewhere beyond. Turning her stormcloud eyes on those around her, she arched a brow in question.

"No reason you can't go check yourself while the rest of us take a break and report back. You have legs." The golden tom was quick to retort. His patience was thin to begin with, traveling, and dealing with the collection of eclectic personalities had it almost nonexistent these days. "No reason to drag the whole group over the ridge, cut the break short, and wrangle everyone to start moving again because you, sense, something."
He cut his own eyes to meet hers, looking her over and internally remarking experiences can be deceiving. He would have never assumed she was the sort to spout nonsense about sensing things.

Blushingdawn's gaze flickered between Coastcurl and Goldenbelladonna, the sleep slowly fading from her face. If she had been alone, perhaps she would have been able to take a quick nap, but the company around her was keeping her awake, and she was thankful for that. What she was less thankful for, however, was Coastcurl's impatience. Goldenbelladonna had responded far before Blushingdawn had collected the effort to, but she found herself giving a small nod.
"He has a point. Look around - everyone is exhausted. Pushing ourselves in this state is dangerous, surely you aren't expecting everyone to push themselves to that extent?" The red she-cat raised her head from her previous comfortable position, her own wild green eyes meeting Coastcurl's stormy gaze. While others may take the look as a challenge, there was no meaning other than pure curiosity. She wished to know how Coastcurl would respond, how the other she-cat thought, and if Goldenbelladonna or Agatemurmur had more to say.

Her snowy paws kneaded the ground, fur flecked with mud and claws torn. She knew they were right, but didn't want to admit it. With a slight frown, Coastcurl turned her gaze back to the ridge, her whiskers twitching as she sniffed the air blowing toward them. "Just a small break?" she asked, tipping her head to the side slightly as she kept her stormy eyes ahead.

"Just a small break," Agatemurmur confirmed, intrigued by the interactions that were taking place around her. She had been too exhausted to have a witty come back to Coastcurl's original comment, and she hadn't been all that surprised when Goldenbellodonna had spoken up. In fact, her eyes took on a glow of respect for the tom after he spoke, and she couldn't help but grin slightly when Blushingdawn further confirmed his statement, something she hadn't honestly expected.

Dismissing the others he turned his baby blues away once more, a headwind cutting through his fur and drawing his gaze towards the ridge the she-cat had mentioned. It smelt of salt and evergreens, and his nose twitched the the scents. He had never been near an ocean and as such did not know enough to know that's what the winds carried in whispers to tell them, to hint towards those undiscovered crashing waves. Instead he picked up on the undercurrent of cold and frost and grimaced, 'winter is on her way'. It was becoming more and more apparent they would either need to settle or sort out some form of shelter for the coming season.

The same scents had drifted past the tom and had filled Agatemurmur with a weird sense of.. peace. As if she just knew this was finally it. However, once Goldenbellodonna spoke again she nodded. “We’ve been very fortunate that it has held off as long as it has,” she meowed, her eyes straying to the scenery beyond as well. It was only a matter of time before snow would start to blanket the world around them.

The small she-cat had watched their responses to the breeze, a smug, satisfied smile on her maw. Coastcurl tipped her chin up and let that cocky smile of hers curl her lip up slightly. "Y'all still wanna sit here waiting, or go over and find out whats been pulling our paws for this long?" There was a light in her eyes that was almost infectious. Her fur tingled, paws were restless. They were so close.
