The chill in the leafbare air was strengthened by the slight breeze of the night, but Blushingdawn didn't seem to be bothered by either that or the snow under her sore paws. Where she came from, cold like this was the normal. She would wake up with the morning light and stare out into the mountains, blissfully unaware of what her future held. Still, was that not the case now? Uncertainty of the future was the only thing that truly seemed certain to her right now. Blinking back the sleep in her piercing green eyes, she raised her gaze to the star-speckled sky. That was another thing about where she was from - very few around her had believed in StarClan. Now, that faith was what kept her paws moving. They had to be close to where StarClan was leading them, Blushingdawn had to believe that.
Her jaws parted in a yawn, and she glanced back to her sleeping travel companions. She yearned to join them, but her dreams had been rough again. The red she-cat had hoped to find some sort of peace out here under the night sky, but the comfort was taking its sweet time. Despite all of the walking that she had been doing, she wondered briefly if a stroll would help.

"Slipping away into the dark?" A sly voice spoke, the glittering reflection of snow crystals cast by the moon shinning in his narrowed golden eyes as he swept them across the brightly colored she-cat. His own white and gray coat swishing as he crept forward towards her. "How nefarious." He poked with a wide grin, mirth almost dancing alongside his steps as he approached the other. Slowly blinking he settled to a stop slightly beside her but a respectable distance away, after all they weren't yet friends, though he had a good feeling that they could be if he tried.
Would he be trying, well that was yet to be seen. "I don't believe we've yet had the honor of being acquainted? I'm Shimmeringmoon." His smile was proud, a tad narcissistic at the edges, this was a name he had given himself after all and he was rather proud of it. It was a much better name than Cuddlycloud after all, and he would never let it go. He could see his breath fogging in front of him but there was something about the crisp bite of the cold that brought a renewing comfort, almost a hard pat on the shoulder that he relished in.

The sudden voice in the silence of the night would have startled Blushingdawn, had it not sounded so eerily smooth to her ears. It didn't seem as if she had accidentally woken him - he seemed much too aware for that. She had been sure that everyone else was asleep, but it seems that she either missed him or he was just good at pretending to sleep. It could have been either option, really, as she hadn't put too much effort into going out of her way to make sure. After all, she wasn't doing anything that would be bad if she were caught.
Tilting her head slightly, her green gaze fully took in the tom. "Ah, because everything done in the dark must be for some nefarious purpose. Going for a walk at night? How absolutely scandalous. I do hope you'll help me keep this secret." For just a moment, there was a glint of mischief in her eyes, but with a blink, it was gone just as quickly as it had appeared. In its place shone a friendly smile. "You would be right; I'm Blushingdawn. It's a pleasure to meet you, Shimmeringmoon." She picked up her paw, as if to continue walking, but she made no effort to finish the step just yet. "Were you out here with suspicious intentions as well, or would you care to join me for a walk?"

"Of-course I have suspicious intentions!" The tom exclaimed as if insulted she would dare question it. "It's dark out so the only reason to walk into the night is to be nefarious after all. And if you keep my secret I'll keep yours; after all it's mutual assured destruction now!" There was to much of a chipper undertone in his words for a tom contemplating on such heavy topics of destruction. Though, since it was rather evident neither of them actually had dark intentions it was easy to turn the matter of sneaking around in the dark to do evil into a joke.
"In fact, I shall even invite your along on my dastardly plans. It's only polite after all now that we're partners in crime." He shared a wink, swishing his tail with a dramatic flair. Already his mind turned with things and trouble he could get them into, many thoughts bolstered by the snow which was always a fun variable. "Though you have to reciprocate! Like, perhaps if you have an evil lair or anything you must show it to me so I can oh and aw in the appropriate places."
